Delete your account

In the app

1. Open Mate and go to your Profile.
2. Tap Settings, then Delete account.
3. Confirm. Mate deletes your account from our server, deletes your backup, and then wipes the app's data from your phone.

People you chatted with keep the messages already on their phones, and the chat shows as ended.

Type your recovery code below to delete your account backup from our server. Your code never leaves this page: your browser turns it into the backup's address and delete key, and only those are sent.

If Mate is still installed on a phone with backup on, it will upload a new backup. Delete the account in the app on that phone, or uninstall Mate there first.

Without the app or the code

Email privacy@piashare.com from any address and include your Mate ID if you have it (it's on your profile in the app, and on any chat you had with a friend). We will erase the account from our server within 30 days. If no phone connects to an account for 180 days, our server erases what it holds for it on its own. A banned account is not erased while the ban stands.
